Ahmadinejad invited Kim Jong Il

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has sent invitations to the North Korean leader Kim Jong Il to visit Iran to strengthen bilateral economic ties. The invitation was officially confirmed by the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Ramin Mehmanparast. At the invitation message is transmitted during the official visit of Deputy Foreign Minister Fatolahi in Pyongyang.

We hope that North Korean leader's visit to Tehran would help strengthen bilateral ties, especially in the economic sphere, the statement said the spokesman. Recalled in December in Thailand, authorities seized over 35 tons of weapons aboard the aircraft took off from North Korea. It was not clear exactly where the cargo is destined. Investigators have suggested that the recipient of weapons is Iran.
